This is a project that I did for my 2D animation class. I did the voices for the characters and I engineered the music and sound in Cakewalk Sonar. The Taurus character is from a comic book Idea that I had about humans/aliens that had different powers and personalities according to the zodiac. I’m a big astrology fan and I’ve read book after book on the stuff, so I really wanted to do a toon that was Sailor Moon-The Odyssey-X-Men-ish. At first, I had big plans to take this animation far. I was going to have our Taurus hero whooping some ass and completely mangling a bunch of the soldier goons, BUT…… as I started animating some scenes of the bomb-ass action……Flash Crashed…..and I didn’t save…..

THE PLAN

A friend at work asked me to do a logo design for their band, Kyros. He had known little about my background in design and had never seen my portfolio, but he knew that I did this design stuff. He wanted to keep it open to whatever I could come up with, but I asked if he had any Ideas on how he wanted “the look”. Grungy, graceful, smooth?

To my surprise, he had already had a drawing of the logo on hand, so he emailed me the design below.

I finally finished the opening of my demo reel as one of my school projects. Whew.
It took me 40+ hrs. That includes research and stuff as well.
